Use your own router with Verizon FiOS Internet & TV!
So if you do any research about the ActionTec router that comes with Verizon FiOS you will find out that while it has a lot of features it has a very limited number of NAT connections(1).
The Ideal solution is to connect your own router’s WAN port to the ethernet port on the FiOS converter box (ONT) (2) then the ActionTec router to a Coax connection in your house and connect an ethernet cable from a LAN port on your router to a LAN port on the ActionTec router.
Next contact verizon support and request that they remotely switch you over to the ethernet port on the ONT, that you already have everything setup and have a better router that you would like to use and you understand that you need to have the verizon router setup the way I described to have the set top boxes work correctly.
They did it immediately for me, hope this helps!
